Iran supports efforts to enhance security in Iraq: Ahmadinejad

TEHRAN,Nov.13(MNA)– Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that Iran fully supports the efforts to enhance stability and security in Iraq. Ahmadinejad made the remarks during a meeting with Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Nechirvan Idris Barzani in Tehran on Monday. Security and stability are prerequisite for progress, the Iranian president said, adding that all Iraqi people deserve to enjoy peace, receive welfare, and make progress, and all this necessitates unity among Iraqi groups. He also stated that the level of ties between Iran and Iraq can be increased through utilizing the untapped potential. Barzani emphasized the necessity of the expansion of ties between Iran and Iraqi Kurdistan Region, particularly in the field of politics.
