Iraqi PM Accorded Official Welcome

Tehran, April 23, IRNA – The visiting Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki was officially welcomed by First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi here on Sunday. The Iraqi premier arrived in Tehran this morning and was welcomed by Iran’s Minister of Energy Madjid Namjoo upon arrival. During the welcoming ceremony the national anthems of the two countries were played and then Rahimi and al-Maliki reviewed the guard of honor. During his two-day stay, the Iraqi premier is planned to meet with senior Iranian officials and attend the two countries joint economic commission session. The latest regional and international developments as well as all-out mutual cooperation will top the agenda of bilateral talks./end
