Jalili, Japanese Politician Discuss Bilateral, Regional Ties

Tehran, April 9, IRNA – Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili met with the visiting senior advisor of Japan's ruling Democrat Party and former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama in Tehran on Sunday. Jalili said that the mutual interests of both Iran and Japan and their common viewpoints have provided suitable venue for expansion of ties between Tehran and Tokyo. Referring to the fact that Iran and Japan should not allows certain big countries to introduce themselves as international community, Iranian diplomat said that the US is the main culprit of Hiroshima disaster. 'In view of the main demand of the international community for global disarmament, measures should be taken at international level for disarmament of the global powers, particularly the US,' Jalili added. Moreover, he said that the Persian Gulf is the main route to provide the world's energy needs. 'Presence of vast oil and gas reserves in the Persian Gulf is of paramount important for procuring the world's energy,' Jalili added.
