Jeenbekov meets with leader of Japan Parliamentary Friendship League Gen Nakatani

Bishkek, Sept. 07, 2018. /Kabar/. President Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with leader of Japan Parliamentary Friendship League Gen Nakatani. “Every year the bilateral cooperation is dynamically developing at all levels and international platforms,” Sooronbay Jeenbekov said stressing that over 26 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Japan, the countries managed to jointly make a lot of progress. The President expressed gratitude for the support provided by Japan and conveyed his best wishes to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe expressing the hope that he would meet him soon on the sidelines of the UN Summit in New York to discuss mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. Jeenbekov expressed his condolence with regard to the recent tragic events in Japan, which resulted in fatalities, and wished a speedy recovery to all those who were injured. The country leader noted that Kyrgyzstan is a parliamentary republic in Central Asia, which seeks to further strengthen parliamentary institutions. In this regard, he pointed out that it would be very beneficial for the parliamentarians of Kyrgyzstan to study a big experience of Japan in the sphere of parliamentarism, and thanked Japan for considerable help in developing parliamentary democracy in conducting transparent parliamentary and presidential elections. Speaking on trade and economic cooperation, Jeenbekov expressed Kyrgyzstan’s interest in developing mutually beneficial economic cooperation between the two countries. The country leader told in detail about advantages for foreign investments. Within the framework of development of regions, Jeenbekov called the spheres of processing and exporting ecologically-clean agricultural products as priority areas for cooperation. Leader of Japan Parliamentary Friendship League Gen Nakatani extended his appreciation for a warm welcome, and for the condolences. He stressed that the Kyrgyz President’s words of support would be conveyed to Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe. Gen Nakatani congratulated on the last holiday — Kyrgyzstan’s Independence Day and wished the country prosperity and development. In addition, Gen Nakatani mentioned that the delegation of Japan had taken part in the opening of the Third World Nomad Games and visited Kyrchyn ethno-village emphasizing the high organizational level of the event and congratulated on successfully holding the Third World Nomad Games. “We are interested in strengthening the Kyrgyz-Japanese cooperation, including between our parliaments. Moreover, we are ready to further contribute to the development of regions, especially supporting such projects as One Village—One Product. We traveled to Issyk-Kul oblast the other day, and tried berries and fruits. We saw for ourselves that they have wonderful taste. Kyrgyzstan has a great potential, which should be employed to a wider extent and we will do everything possible to help Kyrgyzstan in its democratic development,” Gen Nakatani said. At the end of the meeting the country leader expressed appreciation to the Japanese deputies for coming to Kyrgyzstan and resuming contacts between the parliamentarians of the two countries. “I believe that your visit to Kyrgyzstan contributes to further fruitful development of friendly relations and cooperation between our countries.” Jeenbekov said and wished Gen Nakatani every success in his endeavors, and the people of Japan – happiness and prosperity.
