Larijani: Some Regional Countries Inconsistent With Iraq's Stability

Tehran, Dec 1, IRNA -- Majlis Speaker, Ali Larijani, said on Friday that some regional countries are inconsistent with prevalence of security in Iraq, but 'Iran is a companion of its Iraqi brothers in the path of that country's stability and security'. Larijani made the remark upon arrival at Tehran's Mehrabad International Airport and his return from a four-day visit to Iraq on Friday. The speaker noted that during his visit to Iraq, he had discussed enhancement of parliamentary and political ties with the Iraqi officials. 'During my meetings (with Iraqi officials), we discussed bilateral ties as well as the issue of dust particles coming from Iraq to Iran and transfer of (Iran's) electricity to that country,' Larijani said. He noted that he also met with Iraqi Shiite Ulemas and asked their opinion about the regional political developments. 'Shiite Ulemas residing in Iraq expressed their satisfaction with the victory of people of Gaza against Israel and they thanked Islamic Republic of Iran for contributing to victory of Gazans,' the speaker added./end
