L.BOLD MEETS GERMANY'S FOREIGN MINISTER

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Bold is paying a working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) by invitation of his counterpart Guido Westerwelle.
On Tuesday, the two Foreign Ministers exchanged views on the Mongolia-Germany relations and multi-lateral cooperation.
The Minister L.Bold spoke about present political and economic situation in Mongolia, a programme of the cabinet for reforms, and measures in the external relations.
L.Bod emphasized an importance of the bilateral comprehensive partnership relations in realizing the foreign policy of the Mongolian government, particularly he underlined an importance of the official visit of Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel paid to Mongolia last year and of the state visit of Mongolia's President to Germany. He expressed a willingness to realize works about which was agreed during these visits.
Noting that Germany is the biggest partner and one of the Third neighbours of Mongolia in Europe, he expressed satisfaction with a successful development of the Mongolia-Germany comprehensive partnership relations, and said is is vital to enrich the cooperation with economic content.
Mr Westerwelle said the relationship has been intensive in recent years, and pointed out that the friendship of German and Mongolian people is close and that they have the same interests.
Mr Westerwelle said he supports Mongolia's proposals to co-celebrate the 40th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations in 2014, to establish a joint university of technology in Mongolia, and to continue educating the Mongolian studies in the University of Bonn. He thanked the Mongolian side for big contributions to the UN peacekeeping operation and for sending troops to Afghanistan for stabilizing the country.
In addition, Mr Westerwelle expressed satisfaction with the mutual support in frames of the UN and multilateral cooperation, affirming that the countries will support each other further.
Mr Bold underlined that utilizing German technologies for erecting coal liquefying factory is important for Mongolia's economics, and proposed cooperating in constructing a coke coal factory at the “Sainshand” industrial park and in exploitation of rare mineral resources.
The two dignitaries stated they will pay attention to the inter-citizen ties, and agreed to launch intergovernmental talks on exempting from visa regime diplomatic passports of the two countries.
The Mongolian Minister invited Mr Westerwelle to Mongolia with a visit.
