L.BOLD MEETS WIPO DIRECTOR-GENERAL

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Bold met on Thursday with Mr Francis Gurry, the Director-General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The sides have exchanged views on the participation of Mongolia in the multilateral system of intellectual property protection and on the cooperation between Mongolia and the WIPO. The Minister said that the new cabinet of Mongolia will continue supporting a reform policy of the WIPO, and then expressed a willingness to establish a cooperation memorandum between Mongolia and the WIPO in order to make the further collaboration effective. He invited Mr Gurry to visit Mongolia and to get acquainted with efforts of Mongolia to develop the intellectual property system. In response, Mr Gurry highly appreciated Mongolia's active participation in the WIPO's activities since joining the organization. Then he promised to support Mongolia for contributing to specific goals at the intellectual property sector and increasing the Mongolia's representation at the WIPO. Ending the meeting, Mr Gurry conveyed his greeting to the Mongolian Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag. B.Khuder
