L.BOLD PARTICIPATES IN GROUP-77 MEETING

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ It is required to increase a role of the United Nations (UN) in overcoming the challenges and in tackling problems such as poverty, shortage of financial sources, food safety and climate change. It was said by the Foreign Minister of Mongolia L.Bold at the Foreign Ministerial meeting of the Group of 77 on September 28 in frames of the 67th session of the UN General Assembly. Saying that the Doha Development Agenda (DDA) is still in the deadlock, L.Bold underlined that Mongolia is worrying about not reaching positive results of it, and hoped matters on the trade facilitating agreement and transit transport will be tackled positively. In his speech, the Foreign Minister said it is urgent to make efforts to fruitfully realize the Almaty Programme of Action (Addressing the Special Needs of Landlocked Developing Countries within a New Global Framework for Transit Transport Cooperation for Landlocked and Transit Developing Countries). Appreciating a declaration of Ministers issued from the meeting, he urged the landlocked countries to join a multi-lateral agreement on establishing the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries, and affirmed that Mongolia will collaborate with the Group 77's members in making peace, security, economic growth as well as sustainable development.
