Majlis Speaker: EP Resolution Just A Statement

Tehran, April 6, IRNA – European Parliament (EP) anti-Iran resolution is just a statement in terms of both contents and position, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Sunday. Commenting on the resolution during this morning Majlis open session, Larijani underlined that the resolution is just an anti-Iran propaganda. He stressed that the resolution welcomes continuation of nuclear talks and materialization of the Geneva agreement and supports peaceful settlement of Iranˈs nuclear issue. EP passed a resolution on April 7 that expressed concern over the alleged violation of human rights in Iran. It claimed that Iran’s presidential election in June 2013, which led to the victory of Hassan Rouhani, was “not held according to the EU democratic standards.” Iran has dismissed the resolution as unrealistic and counterproductive at a time when the Islamic Republic and the EU have taken initial steps to normalize their relations./end
