Malaysia Welcomes Formation Of New Libyan Cabinet

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- Malaysia welcomes the formation of Libya's new cabinet last Tuesday by interim prime minister Dr Abdul Rahim Al-Keeb. According to a statement issued by the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Kuala Lumpur hoped the Transitional National Council would steer Libya towards peace, stability and a democratic government. "We are ever ready to foster closer cooperation with Libya's interim government to realise the aspirations of its citizens," the statement said. The statement also said that Malaysia hoped to improve bilateral relations with the interim government. Libya is in a new era following the people's revolution that toppled the regime of Muammar Gaddafi who ruled the republic for 42 years. -- BERNAMA Malaysia
