MEETING ON CLIMATE CHANGE AFFECTS RUNNING

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A two-day meeting titled "Reducing affects of climate change to water supply of Mongolia, adaptation to it" began on Wednesday in the Ulaanbaatar hotel.
This meeting has brought together some 100 representatives such as S.Oyun, the Minister of Environment and Green Development; Sabine Muller, the permanent representative of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ); delegates from foreign countries, international organizations, universities.
They are discussing results of a research made in to possible risks of water reserve and hydro regime in Mongolia caused by climate change, inappropriate consumption of water, and are seeking opportunities to adapt to the climate change. In addition, matters on evaluation of adaptation measurement, monitoring and financing are being considered.
According to scientists' researches, Mongolia has been considered as prone to global climate change region to its geographic location and socio-economic circumstances. The eco-system of Mongolia has tangibly changed in 40 years due to the climate change and fluctuation.
