Mehmanparast: Iran Calls For Restoration Of Peace To Mali

Tehran, March 26, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said on Sunday that the Islamic Republic of Iran fully backs efforts made by African Union to restore peace and tranquility to the Republic of Mali. According to the Information and Press Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mehmanparast referred to latest developments in Mali and said the Islamic Republic of Iran is now following up recent developments in Mali and calls for restoration of peace and stability as well as respect for its people's rights. Iran’s policy on African countries is focused on maintenance of their security and resolving of their interior disputes by the countries in that continent through talks and dialog, he said, adding that Iran believes that any tension or unrest will harm nations and prepare grounds for interference of foreign powers./end
