Memorandum on retaining working places
Pavlodar, 11 November 2008, (Khabar) - The Pavlodar City council and heads of large companies in the region have agreed that there will not be any employment redundancies and their liabilities are fixed which, according to the head of the region Bakytzhan Saginatayev, will help prevent the forecast welfare and labour risks.
The heads of big companies are guaranteeing to preserve all wages and working privileges which are statutory.
In its turn,
the city council is undertaking comprehensive support for business and
especially concerning the development of new investment projects.
Enterprises in the Pavlodar region are maintaining very high outputs and as
the local department for entrepreneurship and industry reports, from the
beginning of this year growth has amounted to almost 10%. The implementation
of five macro economic projects amounting to over 2.5 billion US dollars is
currently underway.
Victor Schukin, general director of "Bogatyr Access Komir" company:
- During this week we discussed these terms and twice met in this hall. We
discussed these issues, judicial and economic sides. We undertook
obligations to preserve personnel and increase range and work in normal
regime in autumn and winter periods.
Leonid Belogrivyi, director of Pavlodar machine building plant:
- We undertook obligations of the memorandum. We will do our best to
preserve personnel and level of salary. I want to say the situation at the
enterprise is good. Machine building is a little bit inert sphere and term
of production of goods 120-140 days. Today we can say with confidence our
production range is ready for the nearest 4 months.
Almaz Ibragimov, president of "Aluminum Kazakhstan" JSC:
- The main task is to preserve personnel. I held meetings and people
supported me and our forecasts are encouraging so far.
According to the head of the aluminum plant, the situation on the financial
markets has not affected the development of one of the largest projects in
the republic - the construction of an electrolysis plant. Almaz Ibragimov
noted that the plant will be put into operation on time. All in all, the
memorandum has 14 signatures from the largest industrial companies in the
Pavlodar region. It is expected that the authorities will sign the same
agreement with representatives of medium sized businesses.
