MINING MINISTER MEETS GERMAN AMBASSADOR

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On February 23, Mining and Heavy Industry Minister D.Sumiyabazar met with Stefan Duppel Hermann, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Mongolia.
In the beginning, the Minister expressed an appreciation to the Federal Republic of Germany for cooperating with Mongolia in training personnel of mining sector.
'An agreement between Governments of Mongolia and Germany was established to cooperate in the mineral resources, industrial and technological sectors. The 6th meeting of the intergovernmental working group responsible for reviewing and monitoring the agreement implementation will be held on May 28-29,” reported the Minister.
In addition, D.Sumiyabazar said that Mongolian government adheres to a policy to maintain traditional friendly ties of external cooperation, create favorable and stable legal environment and attract investment. Within this framework, the Minister put forward a proposal to cooperate with Germany in extractive and processing sector.
In response, the Ambassador thanked for a well-timed meeting and said, “First graduates of German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT) will come to labor market this year. Also, a class of mechatronics, most demanded profession in mining sector, was opened at the Polytechnic College. We are studying an opportunity to expand cooperation in training professional personnel further.”
