MINISTER HOLDS NEGOTIATIONS WITH FAO HEAD

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Negotiations were held on Thursday between Kh.Battulga, the Minister of Industry and Agriculture, and visiting Mr Jose Graziano da Silva, a head of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The sides shared views on widening of the cooperation, improving the industry, supply and security of Mongolia's food production sector, and reached an agreement on the collaboration in these issues. The government of Mongolia and the FAO signed a memorandum on future five-year cooperation that will implement goals to ensure the quality of the Mongolian organic food based on livestock reserve and fertile lands, to make Mongolia an exporter of food products as well as a model of organic foods grower in Asia-Pacific. The same day, Mr da Silva handed Kh.Battulga the FAO's Silver Medal that is given to Mongolia's government for significant contributions to the food supply of the world. B.Khuder
