MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION IN GERMANY

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A delegation led by A.Gansukh, the Minister of Road and Transportation, attended the “InnoTrans 2012” international exhibition of railway. It opened on September 18 in Berlin, Germany. Mr Gansukh has been invited by Mr Peter Ramsauer, Germany's Federal Minister of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs. Apart of taking part in the exhibition, Mr Gansukh has held meetings with the Minister Ramsauer, and Mr Bernhard Heitzer, the State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, to share views on the bilateral and multi-lateral cooperation. During the meeting, Mr Gansukh spoke about a structure of the new cabinet of Mongolia and the biggest projects in the infrastructure, particularly in the railway sector, to be implemented by the government. The German side expressed a readiness to assist Mongolia's railway sector and to establish some documents on training Mongolian staffers. Noting about a possibility to collaborate in introducing the European standards to Mongolia, the two sides agreed to talk this matter in near future. Moreover, the sides exchanged views on updating the cooperation memorandums. Within the exhibition, the Minister also met Mr R. Grube, CEO of Deutsche Bahn AG, and Mr Yakunin, the president of the state-run Russian Railways company. The Mongolian Minister suggested that the Russian side cooperate in renovating the Ulaanbaatar railway and in constructing new railways in Mongolia. Mr. Grube has been invited to visit Mongolia.
