MINISTER TS.OUYNGEREL RECEIVES COSTAS CHRIST

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism Ts.Ouyngerel received the National Geographic traveler, editor Mr Costas Christ on October 17. The sides focused on possibilities of the further cooperation. Ms Ouyngerel spoke about the Mongolian tourism sphere, then said, for example, that her Ministry intends to prepare highly-educated guides, to erect internationally-recognized hotels, and to receive the "quality" tourists. The she shared her ideas about ranking of the tourists organizations and guides and giving an award named after the tourism Minister or Ministry. In turn, Mr Costas Christ advised developing of a tourism that shows the nomadic lifestyle and maintains the historical traditions. Ts.Ouyngerel noted that it is difficult to implement a long-term master-plan on tourism because the ruling power changes every four years depending on election results, "that is why we must make a high quality draft on tourism and reflect it in the law. Nevertheless, the changing powers will not change a good law." Ch.Enkhtuya
