MINISTRY AND MNCCI TO COOPERATE IN ECO-DEVELOPMENT

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Environment and Green Development and Mongolia's National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) have established a cooperation memorandum. Signed on Friday by S.Oyun MP and Minister of Environment and Green Development and by S.Demberel MP and head of the MNCCI, the document is an alteration of the 2009 memorandum and has brought the collaboration of these organizations into a new level thanks to reflecting new clauses on supporting the green development policy and green economy. The cabinet for reforms has goals such as to transfer the present tendencies of economic development to the concept and principle of eco development and to renovate the natural protection and environment policy. To have them realized, the sides will collaborate in such specific issues as introducing an evaluation of eco-system and a payment for eco-system services, working out and implementing a concept on green tax and budget reform, supporting investments for environment, drilling principles of pure productions and green consumption, creating the "green" purchase system, supporting the public participation, and widening of the collaboration and partnership between the state and private sector. In addition, the parties will work together in supporting the environmentally-friendly products business and eco-productions, in introducing new technologies, standards and experiences of eco-productions, increasing the "green" investments, and refining upon the legal environment.
