Mohamed bin Zayed, Niger President explore prospects for joint partnerships

ABU DHABI, 6th October, 2016 (WAM) -- His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and President Mahamadou Issoufou of Niger, on Wednesday, explored prospects for building joint constructive partnerships in economic, trade, investment and developmental areas by harnessing diverse resources and potentials available in both countries.
During a meeting in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed and President Issoufou tackled regional and international efforts to counter terrorism and extremism, emphasising the importance of intensifying international co-operation and co-ordination to confront terrorist groups and their sponsors. They also affirmed the need for consolidating pillars of stability and security in the region and beyond.
Sheikh Mohamed affirmed the UAE's desire to build and expand close friendship ties with friendly countries. He said relations with the Republic of Niger were growing steadily and hoped these ties would scale to new heights of progress for the best interest of the two friendly countries and their people.
The President of Niger said he was delighted at visiting the UAE and at meeting with HH, expressing his country's interest in developing ties of co-operation with the UAE, particularly in developmental and economic areas.
During the meeting, they also took stock of the latest regional and international developments and exchanged views on a variety of issues of mutual concern.
Present from the UAE side were Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Security Council, Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouie, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, and Lt. General Isa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces.
