MONGOLIA-KYRGYZSTAN JOINT DECLARATION RELEASED

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Mongolia and the Republic of Kyrgyzstan released on Tuesday a joint declaration on outcome of the official visit of Mongolia's President Ts.Elbegdorj to Kyrgyzstan on April 3-6.
A warm welcome given to the State Head of Mongolia was an expression of the bilateral friendly relations.
The official talks between the Presidents of Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan have strengthened the friendly relations and have confirmed a common aspiration to give impetus to the mutually beneficial cooperation.
The sides agreed that strengthening of the bilateral relations is one of the vital directions of the both countries' foreign policies and meets interests of the two countries. The sides discussed issues of developing the ties, expressed a mutual satisfaction with a level of the bilateral talks, and affirmed their willingness to deepen the cooperation in respect of common interests of the countries' people and connect it with contemporary conditions.
The sides declared their agreements and statements based on the Treaty on the Mongolia-Kyrgyzstan friendly relations and cooperation established on July 10, 1993, the Joint Declaration on developing the friendly relations focused on the 21st century (December 19, 1999); the Mongolia-Kyrgyzstan Joint Declaration (July 19, 2002); and other contracts and agreement.
Mongolia congratulates the Kyrgyz people on electing their new President through just election on October of 2011.
The two Presidents agreed that the similarity of the state systems of Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan has opened big opportunities to cooperate in developing the political structure of both countries and in sharing experiences.
Chairing the Community of Democracies (CD), Mongolia promised to support Kyrgyzstan's efforts to strengthen the democratic governance and to establish transparent and fair society with a public participation.
The sides stressed that they have the same aspiration to boost the friendly relations and to continue fruitful political talks for the sake of interests of peoples. Moreover, the sides will help each other in a cooperation between parliaments and friendship groups.
The countries emphasized an importance of developing the ties by deepening the collaboration in the fields of trade, economics and investments, and also agreed to realize joint measures for the collaboration.
Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan agreed to widen the cultural and humanitarian cooperation and to support activities of universities, scientific and cultural centers, public and political organizations and funds.
Within the regional and internal matters, the two countries affirmed their aspiration to support endeavors for peace, security, democracy, human rights and to strengthen the cooperation in frames of the United Nations (UN). They expressed a willingness to develop collaboration in backing each other at elections of international organizations.
The sides highlighted the same position towards international actions such as combating against terrorism and extremism.
The Kyrgyz side backed a matter on establishing the headquarters of the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries in Ulaanbaatar, and expressed a readiness to join a multi-lateral agreement on establishing it.
Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan have an aspiration to widen the bilateral and multilateral cooperation in combating transnational crimes, terrorism, extremism, separatism, illegal trade of arms, drugs, and immigration. They also have an aspiration to set up a consultative mechanism for creating peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Affirming the persistent aspiration for nuclear weapon-free future, the countries appreciated the Nuclear Weapon-Free status of Mongolia and Central Asia, which will contribute to the global regime for non-proliferation of the weapon.
The Republic of Kyrgyzstan backed a willingness of Mongolia to become a participating state of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), and expressed a readiness to cooperate with Mongolia in a scope of this organization. Furthermore, Kyrgyzstan congratulated Mongolia on efforts and activities in chairing the CD.
The sides hoped that the joint declaration will significantly contribute to strengthening the bilateral friendly relations.
The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj thanked his counterpart Mr. Almazbek Atambayev for the warm audience, and invited him to visit Mongolia. The Kyrgyz President thankfully accepted the invitation.
