"MONGOLIANS IN DEEL" FESTIVAL RUNS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The "Mongolians in Deel" festival took place on Friday on the Sukhbaatar square within the 806th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire and the 91st anniversary of the People's Revolution. This festival is co-organized for the sixth time by the Administration of Ulaanbaatar city, the City's Department of Culture and Arts, Mongolia's Union of Tourism and some organizations. It aims to propagandize the traditional costumes, dwelling, crafts and art to all, to make young generations be proud of the history and culture of the nomadic people. The festival was organized first time in 2007 with participation of 100 people who wore deel. This year, the action gathered more than ten thousand people. A parade went to demonstrate richly made fancy deels, many gathered performed traditional and European public dances, an ankle-bone shooting contest ran as well.
