MONGOLIANS AT INT'L CONFERENCE ON CO-OPERATIVES
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Mongolians are participating in the 9th Asia-Pacific Co-operative Ministers' Conference that kicked off on February 27 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Mongolia is being represented by N.Enkhbold, a Vice Speaker of Parliament and chairman of Mongolia's National Association of Co-operatives; M.Bayarmagnai, a head of the Regulatory Department of Implementing Policy of Food Productions, Trade and Service of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry; M.Dondogdorj, a deputy head of the Department of Small- and Middle-sized Productions; L.Dashpurev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Kingdom of Thailand; and others.
On the first day of the conference, the Vice Speaker N.Enkhbold delivered a report on governmental measures and policy for the sector of co-operatives, a head of the "Ur Jims" co-operative of Khovd aimag D.Tsendsuren talked about a successful development of co-operatives in their locality.
N.Enkhbold held official talks with Ms. Dame Pauline Green, the president of the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA). Ms. Green appreciated an announcement of the Year of Co-operatives of United Nations at an initiative of Mongolia's government, and expressed a willingness to boost the bilateral cooperation and to support Mongolia in introducing international experience and technical assistance.
The conference will continue until Wednesday.
