MPP FACTION MEETS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ On Monday, the faction of the Mongolian People's Party (MPP) considered a package law on education initiated by the cabinet. According to O.Enkhtuvshin MP, a head of the faction, the package law coincides with the same draft law worked out by MPs, for example, the drafts both contain clauses on the allowances for teachers and workers of local schools and kindergartens and on mid-career training for them. The government's draft has several vital clauses such as reserving lands owned by schools and kindergartens, on banning a sale of school or kindergarten-owned lands, on appointing a school director or kindergarten manager in accordance with order of aimag's governor only. The cabinet's draft was backed by the faction, but a five-member working group was set up to refine upon this draft. The faction also considered as necessity to create another group to work out a draft law with an aim to solve problems facing the educational sector. Then the faction discussed a draft amendment to the law on mineral resources. It was worked out by the cabinet and sent to the National Security Council (NSC) seven months ago, and no response is given by the latter so far, so the faction tasked the cabinet with submitting this draft the State Great Khural.
