MPP PROTESTS GEC'S DECISION

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Mongolian People's Party (MPP) has expressed a strong protest against the resolution of the General Election Committee (GEC) by which democrats G.Batkhuu and D.Zorigt have been recognized as winners of the parliamentary election.
It was reported on Wednesday by O.Enkhtuvshin, a chairman of the MPP; N.Enkhbold and E.Monkh-Ochir, MPP members; S.Chinzorig, a candidate from the MPP; and J.Monkhbat, a manager of the “Unen” newspaper after the resolution had been submitted to the Speaker.
The resolution also says that the opponents of these democrats N.Tomorkhuu and S.Chinzorig from MPP have breached the election law.
“Mongolia has lost its democracy because the parliamentary minority has been under the pressure of majority who adopts laws for their sake. They have obtained the state authority by flouting voters' choice,” O.Enkhtuvshin said, adding that the MPP will send a complaint to the State Great Khural and the President.
“Our candidates are considered a having violated the election law because they involved under-age people to election campaign. But it has not been confirmed, moreover, B.Selenge and Bulganaa who are claimed to be participants in the election campaign for the MPP did not attend the campaign,” he explained.
The MPP members N.Enkhbold and J.Monkhbat added that the ruling party must carry out its works with independence from any administrative organizations and must respect the minority.
