New robot for bomb disposal in created in Turkey

Azerbaijan, Baku, July 23 /Trend A.Taghiyeva / Specialists of the Turkish military and industrial company Aselsan have created a robot to neutralize almost all types of bombs, Sabah newspaper reported on Tuesday. According to the newspaper, the testing of the robot, which is called Kaplan, was conducted on a U.S. military base. After the successful testing, Kaplan was added to the list of requests for its purchase by NATO. Kaplan robot has the ability to examine a suspicious object at a distance of 500 meters. Furthermore, the robot is able to carry out works in the temperature range from -30 up to 69 degrees above zero (Celsius scale). The bomb disposal robot can also go 15 kilometers without replacing the batteries. In recent years, the Turkish defense industry has focused on development and manufacture of its own products.
