New York Activist: Iran Not Seeking Nuclear Arms

New York, April 23, IRNA – Political activist and member of a group called “Brooklyn for Peace” Richard Grave stressed that Iran was not after development of nuclear arms.
Talking to IRNA, he referred to the constructive talks between Iran and the 5+1 and said Iran's uranium enrichment activities are under full supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
He said it was time for the American nation to realize that the Iranian nation as an IAEA member who is also a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty has a right for uranium enrichment.
Noting that Iran has done much to prove the peaceful nature of its nuclear activities, Graves criticized the US and Zionist regime’s war of rhetoric against Iran and said any kind of adventurism against Iran like attacking its soil will cause chaos and insecurity in the Middle East region.
He said it was a clear case of violation of international regulations that the US and the Zionist regime were threatening a country with military attack without having any solid reasons and documents for their claims.
Stressing that it was an absolute right of the Iranians to confront any aggression, he believed attacking Iran would spread the fire of war to other parts of the Middle East region as well and cause irreparable damage.
Criticizing the double-standard policies of the US administration, the political activist noted that American officials were talking of the dangers of Iran for regional peace and stability while Iran does not possess even one single nuclear weapon contrary to the US and the Zionist regime which have over 10,000 and 400 nuclear warheads respectively.
Noting that the US support the Zionist regime which is the only country possessing nuclear arms in the Middle East, he urged Americans to voice their severe protest against Washington aggressions and military threats against other countries./end
