NUMBER OF LIVESTOCK HEADS INCREASES
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A report on a preliminary results of the livestock census for 2011 says that a number of heads of livestock increased by 3,276,3 thousand or 10,0 per cent against 2010, reaching thus 36,005,8 thousand.
It sounded at the cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
A number of horses reached 2,093,0 thousand heads, cow--2,315,1 thousand, camel--279.6 thousand, sheep--15,509,1 thousand, goat--15,809,0 thousand, increasing by 172,7 thousand, 139,1 thousand, 10,0 thousand, 1,028,7 thousand, and 1,925,8 thousand respectively.
The number of livestock augmented in 18 aimags and in Ulaanbaatar city, but decreased in Darkhan-Uul, Orkhon and Selenge aimags. All kinds of livestock increased in Arkhankhangai, Bayan-Olgii, Bayankhongor, Bulgan, Gobi-Altai, Dornogobi, Dundgobi, Zavkhan, Ovorkhangai, Omnogobi, Tov, Uvs, Khovd and Gobisumber provinces.
The biggest number of livestock was recorded in Arkhangai, Khovsgol, Tov, Ovorkhangai and Khentii aimags.
