OECD BACKED PROJECTS DISCUSSED

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A seminar on projects implemented and to be implemented by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) was jointly organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and OECD on June 21. The opening speech of the seminar was delivered by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs D.Davaasuren and Head of the Eurasia Division in the OECD William Tompson.
Agenda of the seminar included report of the project on Enhancing Competitiveness in Central Asia implemented by the OECD in 2016-2018, specific recommendations made after the study on increasing financial access of small and medium enterprises in Mongolia and the project on Improving Transport Connections in Central Asia to be implemented from this year onwards. State Secretary of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry D.Enkhbat delivered a speech on food and agriculture sector and gave a report of the measures being taken by Mongolian Government on developing small and medium enterprises and promoting its operations such as enhancing legal environment, increasing financial access, supporting its market expansion, and improving competitiveness.
In addition, Deputy Minister of Road and Transport Development B.Tsogtgerel made speech on current conditions and actions of Mongolia’s road and transport sector. He also expressed appreciation for the commencement of first stage study of the project on Improving Transport Connections in Central Asia.
Representatives from over 60 government, non-governmental organizations and business associations partake in the seminar.
