Pakistan Editor Does Not Expect Any Change In Iran’s N-policy

Islamabad, Aug 24, IRNA – A Pakistani editor on Thursday said that he does not expect any change in Iran’s nuclear policy as it is based on principles and for peaceful purposes.
Talking to IRNA, Javed Siddiq editor of daily Nawa-i-Waqt said that new Iranian President Hassan Rohani has emerged as reformist leader who wants to resolve all issues with West diplomatically.
The analyst added that the new Iranian President wants to develop good relations with world but he would not compromise on the interests of Iran. “For example there will be no change in Iran’s nuclear policy and the country would not accept the illegitimate Zionist Regime,” he said.
“Hassan Rohani wants to open a new chapter of diplomacy,” he viewed.
Javed Siddiq said that Iran is a committed signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and a member of the IAEA; it has
the right to develop peaceful nuclear technology.
The editor noted that Iran’s nuclear program is being developed under the safeguards of the IAEA and its inspectors are regularly visiting the nuclear installations of Iran.
The senior journalist said that US and western allegations against peaceful nuclear program of Iran have no justifications. “They cannot snatch the inalienable right of Iran to develop peaceful nuclear technology,” said the intellectual.
Javed Siddiq was of the view that Hassan Rohani being a reformist leader will resolve all issues with West through diplomatic channels. The analyst asked West to respect Iran’s basic rights and quit the policy of coercion.
He said that why western countries are afraid of Irans nuclear program as the Islamic Republic has already signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT)./end
