Pakistani Shiite Alliance To Announce Political Strategy

Islamabad, March 27, IRNA – Pakistan’s main Shiite alliance, Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, has announced to chalk out political strategy like Lebanon in few months.
Central leaders of the Wahdat-e-Muslimeen said on Sunday night that the political strategy will be announced in the city of Lahore in a big public meeting on July 1st.
Secretary General of the alliance Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri told thousands of supporters in the port city of Karachi that Wahdat-e-Muslimeen will emerge as a biggest political force in the country.
“We will defeat anti-Islamic elements in political arena,” he said at the Quran and Ahli-Baith Conference
He said the political parties are only interested in politics and they do not have any concern at the plight of the people and the country.
He said Wahdat-e-Muslimeen will solve problems of the masses and will present sincere and honest leadership to the country.
The participants were chanting slogans 'Labaik Ya Hussain, Labaik ya Hussain'. A large number of women also participated in the biggest conference.
Jafri appealed to the political parties not to trample rights of the people, adding that the alliance will not allow political parties to usurp rights of the masses.
He also opposed restoration of supply line for NATO troops in Afghanistan and said the Wahdat will not accept any such decision.
“We will not accept any decision to restore NATO supply line,” he said.
Pakistan cut off supply line for NATO troops in November to protest against the NATO raid on Pakistani border posts, killing 24 soldiers.
He also condemned foreign interference in Pakistan’s internal affairs and said the people will resist any such attempt.
He said the big public meeting in Karachi on Sunday is in fact Meeting against terrorism and sectarianism, saying that the government should take tough steps against terrorism and sectarianism.
The Wahdat leader said that the alliance will also frustrate any conspiracy to disintegrate Pakistan.
“We will render sacrifice but will not surrender,” Jafri said.
Other speakers condemned target attacks on Shiites in parts of the country and demanded of the government to expose the elements behind the killings.
They said that target killing of Shia Muslims is a conspiracy to foment sectarianism and to create hatred among the Muslims. He asked the people to foil sinister designs of those who divide Muslims.
They demanded of the government to apprehend those who killed prominent lawyer and his son in Karachi on Saturday./end
