Parliament Speaker meets Bangladeshi counterpart

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Chairman of the State Great Khural (Parliament) M.Enkhbold held several bilateral meetings with the heads of other countries’ legislatures, while attending the 136th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Dhaka, Bangladesh. For the first meeting, the Speaker of the Mongolian Parliament sat down with Ms. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, speaker of the House of the Nation (parliament) of the Republic of Bangladesh. Speaker M.Enkhbold congratulated on the successful organization of the 136th IPU Assembly at home and extended gratitude for sending Ms. Sheih Hasina, Prime Minister of Bangladesh, as the head of delegation to the 11th ASEM Summit held in Ulaanbaatar last year. He also underlined this year marks the 45th diplomatic anniversary of Mongolia and Bangladesh. The sides touched on matters of cooperation in economy and other sectors. Mr. M.Enkhbold suggested to increase the frequency of high-level visits and cooperation in trade, investment and tourism. Ms. Chaudhury appreciated the Mongolia's participation of parliamentary delegates in the 136th IPU Assembly, as “it allows the Mongolians to get to know better about Bangladesh’s history and culture and to expand our cooperation”. She also talked about possibilities to draw Mongolian investments to Bagladesh’s pharmaceuticals, clothing, textile and leather industries. The dignitaries accentuated on the importance of establishing friendship groups within the two parliaments, exchanging constant visits and practices. Speaker M.Enkhbold invited his counterpart to visit Mongolia at her convenience.
