PAY RISE EXPECTED, BUDGET WILL BE AMENDED

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Government obliged on December 21 the Minister of Finance to study possibilities of pay increase for the state servants in two stages as the first of February and of May next year and to elaborate a draft on amending the law on budget. This term has become possible thanks to the teachers who, demanding a pay rise, arranged the strike and had the issue resolved at the three parties' negotiation and discussed at the Prime Minister's level. The parties had agreed to give the teachers and workers of schools an allowance equal to their average salaries for the time of the strike, stop the strike, amend the law, and to raise salaries starting on the days mentioned.
