PG Confab To Be Held At Int'l Level: Namjoo

Tehran, May 1, IRNA – Iran’s University Jihad and Kish Free Trade Zone have planned to hold a Conference on Persian Gulf at international level, Secretary of the conference Abbas Namjoo said on Monday. He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the eighth Conference on the Persian Gulf. Namjoo said that the articles being presented to the conference have focused on unique characteristics of the Persian Gulf as a great asset. Namjoo said that natural resources of the Persian Gulf has drawn attention of the international observers since 1960 which reached its climax in 2005 requiring Iranian officials to hold conferences on the Persian Gulf. Elaborating on the articles forwarded to secretariat of the Conference on Persian Gulf, Namjoo said that from 270 articles, 62 deal with environment and geography, 62 with social status of the Persian Gulf, 51 are about archeology of the persian Gulf, 41 deal with tourism, 26 with culture, arts and architecture, 16 with economy and 11 with modern technology to be applied for preservation of Persian Gulf natural resources./end
