PM DISCUSSES INTENSIFICATION OF EPA WITH SOUTH KOREAN DELEGATES

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Prime Minister of Mongolia J.Erdenebat received the delegates led by Member of National Assembly of South Korea Lee Hae-Chan on August 8. Mr. Lee Hae-Chan said “Coming back after 9 years, Mongolia and bilateral relationship seem to have highly developed” and expressed his interest in cooperating on agricultural sector. PM J.Erdenebat responded “Agriculture is one of Mongolia’s leading sectors. The Government of Mongolia is ready to cooperate and provide full support on this matter”. After congratulating the Democratic Party’s victory in the legislative election, PM J.Erdenebat addressed the necessity of intensifying some of the agreements negotiated between the two countries. Specifically, establishing Economic Partnership Agreement, which is currently in joint working group research-level, would further develop bilateral ties of the two countries, marked PM J.Erdenebat. And expressed “South Korea decided to provide USD 500 million soft loan to Mongolia. Our side will soon be presenting the proposed projects and programs for the soft loan. Therefore, I believe the loan agreement will be negotiated soon”. Presently, over 40 thousand Mongolian citizens reside in South Korea. “Once the economy is stabilized, our citizens will be returning to their home country. Regardless of the current economic state of our country, I trust the current party in power and National Assembly of South Korea will support Mongolian citizens living in the ROK and ease the conditions of travel visa” addressed PM J.Erdenebat at the end of meeting.
