PM U.KHURELSUKH PAYS A COURTESY CALL ON LI ZHANSHU, CHAIRMAN OF STANDING COMMITTEE OF THE NPC

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh paid a courtesy call on Li Zhanshu, chairman of Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, on April 9 and exchanged views on Mongolia-China cooperation. During the meeting, the PM conveyed warm greetings of Mongolia’s Parliament Speaker M.Enkhbold to Li Zhanshu, expressing an interest to deepen cooperation between legislative organizations of the two countries. In turn, Li Zhanshu emphasized that the visit will give an important impetus to boost bilateral relations and cooperation of the countries, strengthen political trust and raise mutual confidence. He also congratulated U.Khurelsukh on his fruitful official talks with Chinese counterpart and reaching many important agreements. At the meeting, the sides simultaneously expressed their position for creating a favorable legal environment to develop relations of the two countries by using inter-parliamentary mechanism of permanent meeting effectively, and for expanding cooperation in other sectors. They considered that maintaining strategic dialogues of the two sides, utilizing economic cooperation mechanisms creatively and stimulating relations between political parties will be significant to deepen the partnership relations of the two countries. In addition, they agreed to co-organize many celebratory events on the occasion of 70th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between two countries to be marked in 2019. The sides expressed willingness to collaborate closely to enrich economic cooperation with new content and increase a bilateral trade turnover to USD10 billion by 2020 within the frames to harmonize and develop Mongolia’s ‘Development Road’ and China’s ‘The Belt and Road’ initiatives.
