PREMIER MEETS AMBASSADORS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ S.Batbold PM has expressed satisfaction with regularizing of high-level mutual visits between Mongolia and the USA and with successful development of the bilateral relations. The Premier said it on April 30 at a meeting with Mr. Jonathan S. Addleton, the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Mongolia. He hoped that the regularizing of mutual visits will continue, and considered as necessity to forward the ties in trade, economic and investment sectors. The Prime Minister said many actions had run in frames of the 25th anniversary of the Mongolia-USA diplomatic relations, including an exhibition in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He asked the U.S. side to support activities of the Community of Democracies (CD),which id being chaired by Mongolia, and expressed a willingness to continue a cooperation with the U.S side in ensuring regional stability and security. Mentioning about a success in realization of projects of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the Premier expressed a willingness to enroll into the 2nd Compact Treaty and to start talks on establishing a contract on transparency. In turn, Mr. Addleton underlined that his country has been supporting Mongolia's democracy, and said the USA are ready to back an organization of an international conference of women in Mongolia within the CD's presidency. He congratulated Mongolia on becoming a NATO partner, and supported the Premier's views on the bilateral relations and cooperation. The same day, the Premier S.Batbold received Mr. Lee Tae-ro, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia. S.Batbold emphasized that Mongolia and the South Korea are brothers who share the values of the democracy, and noted that the countries have a great opportunity to expand the bilateral relations and cooperation. He expressed a confidence that the Ambassador will pay attention to facilitating the visa terms. In response, Mr. Lee thanked the Prime Minister for the audience, and underlined that the official visit of the PM to the South Korea significantly contributed to widening of the relations and cooperation.
