PRESIDENT MEETS AMBASSADOR OF IRAN

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj received on Tuesday Mr Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Non-Resident Ambassador of Iran to Mongolia. Mr. Araghchi passed the State Head an invitation from Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to participate in the 16th summit meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) which is scheduled August 26-31 in Tehran, Iran. "Our President Ahmadinejad recalls meeting with You to share views on the bilateral relations and regional issues during a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Beijing," Mr. Araghchi said. He said Mongolia's leader visits Iran, it will become one of the biggest events in the countries' relations. Then the dignitaries exchanged views on the Mongolia-Iran relations, and reached an agreement to conduct a joint research in historical and cultural fields. Iran has many historical and cultural spots and sources related to the Ilkhanate, one of the parts of the Mongolian Empire. There are also several mosques, buildings, palaces erected during the Ilkhanate as well as mountains and rivers bearing Mongolian names. The sides considered as necessity to bring the historical research works into a new level, and shared views on preparing the Mongolian historians with Persian languages. B.Khuder
