PRESIDENT MEETS WILLIAM J. HAGUE

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj met on Monday Mr. William Jefferson Hague, the Foreign Secretary and First Secretary of State of the United Kingdom, in London. Mr. Hague congratulated Mongolia on winning the first medal in the London Olympics, and wished Mongolian athletes continued their success at the Olympics. Mr. Hague highly appreciated achievements of the Mongolian President as well as the government in strengthening the democracy, cherishing human rights, improving the legal environment and accelerating the economic development of Mongolia. "In times of an intensive economic growth in your country, British investors are focusing attention on Mongolia," stressed Mr. Hague, and underlined an importance of expanding the bilateral cooperation in the mining, education, technology and agricultural spheres, and increasing investments. In turn, the State Head Ts.Elbegdorj expressed thanks to the Great Britain for rendering assistance and support to Mongolia in all sectors since the establishment of the diplomatic relations. He mentioned that the bilateral relations and cooperation have been activating in recent years, and emphasized that the cooperation in the fields of education, culture, science and defense has significantly contributed to the bilateral ties.
