PRESIDENT VISITS NAT' LIBRARY AND ARCHIVE IN IRAN

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj visited the National library and archive in Iran. The library, founded in 1937, has several sections in Tehran, can keep 7 million books, many rare writings and documents, for example, the writings related to the Mongol Empire history, and ordinances of Ilkhanate. The President has already agreed with Iranian side on studying these rare materials. xxxxx The Mongolian leader visited an ancient city of Isfahan to see Jame-Atigh mosque, a mosque with 40 colomns, the Imam square abd surrounding it mosques. The Jame-Atigh mosque was built by the Mongolian Ulziit Khaan. Researchers consider that executed at order of Ulziit Khaan decoration on mosque or mihrab is the most beautiful in Iran. xxxxx According to a decree of the Mongolian President, sone Mongolists have been awarded the "Frienship" medal. They are Parking Jahan Bahn and Shirin Bayani. The Mongolist Dr Parking Jahan Bahn has defended a doctor degree by “History research of Ilkhanate king” at the Historical institute of Science Academy of Tajikistan. He has also written several works about a mentality of the Ilkhanate, the Mongolians' contribution to Iran's philosophy and social historical thinking, positive effects of the Mongolians' conquests, and has been broadcasting a serial programmes since 2007 positively highlighting the Mongolians' contribution to for Iranian development and culture. The Mongolist Shirin Bayani, a professor of Tehran university, has written seven works with one theme on Ilkhanate and the Mongol Empire, and translated three books one of which has been selected the best book of a year. He has translated “Secret History of Mongols” in 1971 into Persian language comparing Chinese and French translation. B.Oyundelger
