Prosecution to make concluding speech at Georgian ex-Defense Minister’s trial

Georgia, Tbilisi, July 23 /Trend N.Kirtzkhalia / On July 23 prosecution will make a concluding speech in the trial of the former Defense Minister of Georgia Bacho Akhalaia. The defense may also make a concluding speech at the same day, Akhalaia's lawyer Malkhaz Velidzhanashvili told Trend. "After this, a debate of sides will be held and then the accused will be given the last word," Velidzhanashvili said. The process at Tbilisi City Court will start at 12:00. Bacho Akhalaia and several high-ranking servicemen were accused of inhumanly cruel treatment of military personnel. The sentence in the case should be pronounced before August 7.
