Protesters demand Offshore-Account-Holders to step down
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At noon of Friday, the central square of Ulaanbaatar was filled with protesters having gathered for a peaceful demonsration against politicians and those in power, who hold properties and bank accounts in offshore regions.
The demonstration was initiated by “Special Provisional Council of the People”. The leader of the union of Anti-Offshore Movements, Mr S.Batchuluun announces during the demonsration:
“We consider you, who have come to Sukhbaatar Square today, as the best and bravest citizens of Mongolia, as you are concerned about the fate of this country, have objective understanding and awareness about the current circumstances and understand that there are no more time or place to carry on like this. We will be running activities at this square everyday on to have the politicians with offshore accounts investigated. People want to have faith in the governance. We are not calling you to throw stones to the government palace, because, if we do so, we will lose”.
“Let’s think about our children. We are committed to pass down justice and rightness to our future generations. But, if we miss this turn of the time, our country awaits inevitable fate of many African nations, called as the 'resource curse'".
“We will carry on this demonstration all spring long uniting for a sole purpose of having a state that has just laws and people who are full of confidence in their future”.
