Salehi: Iran Ready To Host Quartet FMs Meet On Syria

Tehran, April 29, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Sunday that Iran is ready to host quartet foreign ministers meeting comprising Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Iran to help resolve Syrian crisis. Salehi made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Guinea Bissauˈs counterpart in Tehran. The Islamic Republic of Iran has established broad-based ties with Egypt after the countryˈs revolution, Salehi said. Foreign ministers of Iran, Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia have discussed the issue and have reached good results on Syria, he said. He regretted that every day a number of innocent people are victimized in Syria and it is the responsibility of neighboring states to end bloodshed in the country. ˈIt makes no difference for us which country is to host the meeting. If Saudi Arabia is prepared to host the meeting, Iran will attend,ˈ Salehi said./end
