Salehi Receives Azerbaijan Republic Deputy FM

Tehran, May 9, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi received visiting Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Republic Khalaf Khalafov here on Tuesday. According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department, in the meeting, Salehi noted capacities of Iran in different fields and said Tehran intends to develop relations with neighboring states. He also expressed hope that the two countries do their best to consolidate bilateral ties. He called Iran as a real friend of Azerbaijan Republic and underlined creation of a cooperation atmosphere in bilateral relations in direction of progress and opening a new chapter in mutual ties. Khalafov, for his part, underlined his country’s officials' intention to develop and consolidate relations with Iran and expressed his country’s readiness to this end. Expressing respect for Iranian nation and referring to common cultural grounds between the two countries, Khalafov said that Baku does not get permission from anyone to have ties with Iran./end
