Some MPs to visit Persian Gulf to highlight Iran’s islands ownership

TEHRAN, April 29 (MNA) – Concurrent with the Persian Gulf Day a number of lawmakers sitting on the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee will visit the Persian Gulf on Sunday to signify Iran’s full sovereignty over the three islands of Abu Musa, and Greater and Lesser Tunbs. Through their visit the MPs will also announce their support for the Iranian forces as the “powerful guards” of these islands, MP Gholamreza Karami told the Mehr News Agency. The United Arab Emirates has claimed ownership over these three Iranian islands. “Instead of causing conflict it is better that countries think about good neighborliness,” Karami said in an indirect reference to the UAE.
