SPEAKER CONCLUDES APPF-26 PARTICIPATION AND BEGINS OFFICIAL VISIT

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ The 26th annual meeting of Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-26) concluded in Hanoi, Vietnam on January 20. Before the conclusion of the APPF-26, the Speaker of Mongolian Parliament M.Enkhbold delivered a speech at a plenary session ‘Regional cooperation in Asia-Pacific’. In his speech, M.Enkhbold said that Mongolia approved its Sustainable Development Vision in February 2016, becoming one of the states that pioneered to define their national goals. He pointed out that Mongolia put goals to strengthen democracy, satisfy ecological balance, eradicate all forms of poverty and transit into upper middle-income countries. On the sidelines of the event, M.Enkhbold held meetings with parliamentary delegates from China, Russia and Mexico. Moreover, Mongolian delegates together with delegates of Russia, Japan and Malaysia worked in the Drafting Committee, initiating a resolution on improving livelihoods of rural women, and made it approved. At the final session of the APPF-26, Mongolia joined the Hanoi Declaration on a new vision for Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Partnership.
