SPEAKER DELIVERS SPEECH AT INT'L SEMINAR ON ELECTION

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Since transmitting to the democratic system, Mongolia has run its parliamentary elections six times and the Presidential elections five times, and already has got a parliamentary culture and social routine of peacefully transferring the state power to another political force as results of parliamentary elections.
The Speaker of the State Great Khural Z.Enkhbold said it addressing the international seminar titled "Election challenges in new democratic nations: Sharing experiences of Asia and Arabian countries" which started on Monday in Ulaanbaatar. "We have learned many things to form our parliament," he added.
Z.Enkhbold underlined that Mongolia is focusing great attention to cooperating with nations in strengthening democracy and sharing experiences in it as Mongolia is chairing the Community of Democracies (CoD). Moreover, Mongolia is attaching a great importance to the education for democracy within the CoD's chairmanship, he added.
Co-organized by the Mongolian side together with the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), the seminar has brought together 30 delegates from Nepal, Bhutan, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, East Timor, Tunisia and India, and experts from Egypt, Jordan, Libya, Morocco, Malaysia and Thailand.
The seminar will run under five key topics such as ensuring the independence of election management, creating the representative governance, election system and regulation of political parties, political finance regulation, involving every person in election process, avoiding chaos related to elections and practical steps.
