Speaker M.Enkhbold addresses Socialist International's meeting

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Representatives of the Socialist International (SI) members around the world has had a meeting during the 136th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), taking place in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The opening remarks were given by the SI Secretary General Luis Ayala. He said “Implementing the sustainable development goals that are being discussed during this assembly is one of our main goals. In this regard, our membering political parties must collaborate, strengthen our ties with IPU and conjoin our capabilities. It is equally important to expand our collective with women and young people, in order to assist in ensuring their rights and improve their involvement”. He gave further information to the gathered on the 25th SI Congress held in Colombia, decisions made during the congress, short and long term objectives and concerns of the international association of political parties. Also, the SI Secretary General introduced Mr. M.Enkhbold, Chairman of the State Great Khural, which was selected as a chair of the Asia-Pacific group of IPU. In his speech, Speaker M.Enkhbold expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet with our friends with shared vision and extended congratulations to Mr. Luis Ayala for being re-elected as the Secretary General. “The Mongolian People’s Party has been taking active parts in the actions by Soc-Intern since the latter’s inception. We strive to maintain our participation level in the future. The MPP has spent years both as the ruling power and opposition. We are ever thankful for SI’s assistance at all times. Today, our party has become one of the key partners of Soc-Intern in East Asia”, he said. “Member of our party and parliament and a former Prime Minister of Mongolia S.Batbold has been re-elected as a vice president of Soc-Intern during the 25th Congress. MPP members have been actively attending the activities of Soc-Intern’s women and youth organizations”, noted the Speaker and wished the Soc-Intern delegates to ambitiously share your opnions on growth, human rights, security, peace, women, children and young people during the 136th Assembly meetings.
