SPEAKER M.ENKHBOLD MEETS DELEGATES FROM THAILAND

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On May 29, Monday, Parliament Speaker M.Enkhbold received delegates of Thailand led by Kosol Petchsuwan, President of Mongolia-Thailand Parliamentary Friendship Group and Member of National Legislative Assembly of Thailand.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr Petchsuwan conveyed the greetings of Surachai Liengboonlertchai, Vice President of the National Legislative Assembly, and wished luck in the Presidential election in which the Parliament Speaker is running.
Speaker M.Enkhbold spoke about how bilateral relations have been flourishing especially in parliamentary cooperation since 1992 when Royal Princess of Kingdom of Thailand, Her Royal Highness Maha Chakri Sirindhorn paid a visit to Mongolia.
“Mongolia wishes to deepen its relationship with Thailand, and economic and trade relations are of great significance. Therefore, the Parliaments and Cabinets of our two countries should focus on facilitating business environment, realizing joint projects and enhancing the legal environment”, the Speaker said.
Mongolia opened its Embassy in Bangkok 17 years ago. As such, the Speaker touched upon the issue of an Embassy of Thailand in Ulaanbaatar, the opening of which will contribute greatly to advancing bilateral ties. He mentioned about tourism and education sectors where bilateral ties could be activated.
In response, Mr Petchsuwan expressed that the Speaker’s proposals and initiatives will be considered. “I have seen the beautiful landscape of Mongolia in person, and I agree, there’s a potential in promoting tourism”, he said. He also commended the efforts of Mongolian Ambassador to Thailand in promoting bilateral trade cooperation. He expressed his willingness to focus on further expanding bilateral ties.
