SPEAKER RECEIVES AMBASSADOR OF USA

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Speaker, Z.Enkhbold has thanked the USA for their support given to Mongolia and mentioned about the 25th anniversary of the Mongolia-USA diplomatic relations celebrated this year. He said it on September 10 at a meeting with the Ambassador of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of USA to Mongolia, Ms Piper Anne Wind Campbell. Z.Enkhbold congratulated Ms Campbell for being appointed the Ambassador to Mongolia and wished her a success. He noted that the two countries' ties have been developing on the full partnership principles," and we consider the USA as our Third neighbor." In her turn, Ms Campbell asked about parliament's work, for example, the autumn session agenda, chances to create a faction of the Mongolian People's Party /MPP/. The Speaker answered her questions, saying, for instance, that the elected to parliament MPP members should have delivered their willingness to form a faction to the Speaker within 24 hours after he/she is appointed. No such requests have been sent, so the right to create the faction is closed, but some other rights are open, for example, to join Standing committees, he explained. The Ambassador said she will work on strengthening of the cooperation and developing multilateral relations. She appreciated a cooperation between Congressional Research Service of USA and research center of Mongolia's Parliamentary Office. B.Oyundelger
