SPEAKER RECEIVES RESIDENT REPRESENTATIVE OF UNDP

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Speaker of parliament, Mr Z.Enkhbold received the Resident representative of United Nations Development programme /UNDP/, Ms Sezin Sinanoglu on October 9. Z.Enkhbold expressed satisfaction with the Mongolia-UNDP cooperation saying the projects and programmes implemented here by the UNDP are greatly contributing to our economics and social development and to strengthening of the human resources. He briefly spoke about the agenda of the autumn session of parliament, then congratulated Mr Sinanoglu on a fruitful implementation of the works planned for 2007-2011 and expressed a satisfaction with a beginning of a new step of the 2012-2016 collaboration. Ms Sinanoglu handed him the United Nations Development Assistance Framework /(UNDAF)/2012-2016 document, briefed on the works and said she is happy to be cooperating with the Mongolian government in implementing this document. She also said she is meeting with members of cabinet on issues of social and economical development and noted that will cooperate with the Women parliamentary group. The Speaker said Mongolia have been working intensively to realize the Millennium Development Goals /MDG/, that in the last year the Fourth National MDG Report was released, and in all these activities the UNDP gave a help and assistance. Ms Sinanoglu said Mongolia, who is leading the Community of Democracies in 2011-2013, has collected an experience in strengthening the democracy and good governance. The UNDP is ready to cooperate with Mongolia in sharing this experience with other countries. Then the sides discussed matters such as ger (national dwelling) districts urbanization, land management, drinking water supply. Ch.Enkhtuya
